Education First 2019 Canadian Youth Ambassadors
On May 28, 2019, I was proud to help host an information session for Senators regarding the Youth Ambassador Program, operated by Education First. Education First (EF) is a leading provider of educational tours for high-school students, operating in 50 countries world-wide. The program empowers students to identify an issue they’re passionate about in their community, propose an idea to help solve it, and ultimately create social change on a national and global scale. Each year, 30 Secondary School age Canadians are selected from every province and territory in Canada to be Ambassadors for Canada. As Ambassadors, they have the privilege of participating to an international destination, participate in workshops led by EF facilitators and experts in their fields, and reconvene in Ottawa to gain support from Members of Parliament and Senators.

Bear Witness Day

It is a campaign by the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada that aims to raise awareness about Jordan’s Principle, a child-first principle that seeks to ensure that First Nations children can access all public services in a way that is reflective of their distinct cultural needs, takes full account of the historical disadvantage linked to colonization, and without experiencing any service denials, delays or disruptions.
