On March 10, 2020, Senator Busson was joined by several of her guests, Eric Foster of the British Columbia Member of the Legislature in the riding of Vernon Monashee, Janice Foster and Janice Reynolds. All were acknowledged during the proceedings in the Senate Chamber followed by a personal tour of the Senate Building.

The School of Public Policy and Global Affairs at the University of British Columbia (UBC) embarked on its second year of its “Women in House” program, which is aimed at promoting a greater level of female representation in the Canadian government. On March 10, 2020, Natascha Schoepl had the opportunity to shadow Senator Busson for a full day to observe political procedures, learn about gender equity, and engage in mentorship and networking with Canadian political leaders.

On February 3, 2020, Senator Busson’s office addressed approximately 75 Nakkertok and Larch Hills skiers from the Nordic Ski Exchange which was followed by a guided tour of the Senate building.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Appreciation Day in B.C.
February 1, 2020 has been officially proclaimed Royal Canadian Mounted Police Appreciation Day in BC. The celebration fell on the 100th anniversary of the RCMP. It marks a day that all of B.C. give thanks to the national police force. Senator Beverley Busson, who was the commissioner of the RCMP until 2007, made the trip from Ottawa to be at an open house at the Vernon Museum in honour of the day. “It’s really important to recognize the fact that so many brave and amazing people who go every day to work to protect our communities,” said Busson. “I think it’s a wonderful recognition that BC has reached out to show the recognition and appreciation.” The photo was taken with Mayor Victor Cumming, RCMP Superintendent Bauer, MP Mel Arnold and retired RCMP Commissioner Senator Bev Busson
