On December 1, 2020, Senator Busson met virtually with some members of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) to discuss the oil & gas sector and how industry can play a role in Canada’s recovery. National movement « Orange Shirt Day »
On September 30th, Senator Bev Busson supported the national movement « Orange Shirt Day » by wearing an orange shirt courtesy of the Haida First Nation.
20th Anniversary Cops for Kids Ride
On September 18, 2020, Senator Busson represented the Senate by briefly speaking at the 20th Anniversary Cops for Kids Ride in BC. Every year, RCMP cyclists pedal 1,000 km over 10-days to raise money for kids.
National Health and Fitness Day on June 6, 2020
In celebrating National Health and Fitness Day on June 6, 2020, Senator Busson and her husband went hiking in the mountains above Lake Shuswap.
Legislature in the riding of Vernon Monashee
On March 10, 2020, Senator Busson was joined by several of her guests, Eric Foster of the British Columbia Member of the Legislature in the riding of Vernon Monashee, Janice Foster and Janice Reynolds. All were acknowledged during the proceedings in the Senate Chamber followed by a personal tour of the Senate Building.
The School of Public Policy and Global Affairs at the University of British Columbia (UBC)
The School of Public Policy and Global Affairs at the University of British Columbia (UBC) embarked on its second year of its “Women in House” program, which is aimed at promoting a greater level of female representation in the Canadian government. On March 10, 2020, Natascha Schoepl had the opportunity to shadow Senator Busson for a full day to observe political procedures, learn about gender equity, and engage in mentorship and networking with Canadian political leaders.
